On July 23, 2019, an update to the Autodesk 2020 product line licensing mechanism was released by Autodesk to address certain issues with this service. Although the Autodesk Licensing Manager (LMTOOLS) still controls the network or multi-user subscription 2020 product line, this mechanism still plays a role in network-based Autodesk products. This mechanism installs a service on your machine and plays an important role when you go to activate your 2020 product.
NOTE: The 2020 product line relies on a new licensing mechanism for any carried over standalone perpetual license or single-user subscription-based product.
If you currently have your 2020 product line, installed and working, you will still need to apply this update to ensure you have the latest licensing mechanism. This update should be applied prior to installing your Autodesk 2020 product line. Close out all Autodesk applications prior to installing the update. Step 1 will make Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service run properly but will have all the product registration erased for the installed Autodesk products.
Manually register the affected product with Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service by using Autodesk Install helper or to reinstall the product. 
Stop Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service from services.msc and navigate to "C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\AdskLicensingService" and rename "AdskLicensingService.data" and "AdskLicensingService.sds" to. If noticing the Autodesk Desktop licensing Service is starting and stopping and does this continuously it is advised to follow the below steps,. "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" when launching Autodesk software version 2020 or higher. "Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly" when starting the Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service manually. 
If Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service doesn't start and are getting one of the below errors try the solution provided,. If the services are not running right click and start the service. Verify Autodesk Desktop Licensing Service shows status as running.
